A little cloudy, but at least the rain has seemed to stop. Yesterday was like a tropical storm at times on the beach. Since we are all about finding in the area, we had to go to the Freeman Park 4wheel Drive aka Topless Jeep Parade and Party. The parade was a little early in the day for me, since we had that party on Friday night. Unfortunately we passed on that. It was probably the best weather all day. But that is okay, we made the best off it. We did not have a Jeep, and parked in the lot right by Freeman Park and a friend of ours came and picked us up. Which was very nice, because the amount of traffic going in and out was tremendous. I posted some video yesterday and today of the party. There were a couple of videos of us driving in and showing all the Jeeps that were there. I thought it was amazing how many people were there and not just from Wilmginton, but the Charlotte, Raleigh, and Emerald Isle areas. It was great. I am sure we would have met even more people if is was not for the rain. Some of the people left early, but many took the rain in stride as we did, and had FUN!!! Even the Domino’s Pizza delivery jeep was there.
After coming off the beach, I said goodbye to my friends, old and new, and went to meet my daughter for dinner. She had a quick errand to run after work that was on Masonboro Loop, so since I had not been to Whiskey Trail in a while, we decided to go there. I was not very hungry, since we were nibbling on the beach all day leaving the decision of what to eat to my daughter. We started with the Texas Tots. Tater tots topped with homemade chili, queso cheese and green onions. They were pretty good, but as I said I was not hungry, so I did not eat many. Next we had the Freaky Creeky. Or should I say my daughter had the Freaky Creeky. I had one bite of the sandwich and a couple fries, and that was it for me. I was stuffed. My daughter enjoyed the sandwich, but after that mountain of Texas Tots, she needed to bring the other half home, along with some of Texas Tots. They did have a hot dog special yesterday that I would have totally been into if I had not snacked all day. I cannot remember exactly what was on them, but they were loaded with toppings. We did not spend long there. I was still very wet from the beach and with the air conditioning it was getting quite chilly.
Well that was it for my very long, wet outing yesterday.
