I am back in town and ready to have FUN!!!!
We are going to start the week by telling you about the amazing basket items we are giving away at the Wilmington Sharks game on June 7th. By the way, it is Thirsty Thursday at the game, which means $1.00 beers during the the game. They will be playing Holy Springs that day. As a sports fan, it was great to team up with this wonderful organization. We hope to be doing a lot more events together in the future.
I wanted to give all our followers a close-up look at the gifts in the baskets and mention a bit about some of the businesses that donated. Including Wilmington Fun and Wilmington Sharks, we had 16 businesses chip in to this basket. I would again like to thank all of them for helping Wilmington Fun to get off the ground.
Before I start, here is how to enter. Go to our Facebook page and LIKE us. It is as simple as that. Feel free to share with your friends, so they can have a chance to win too. The basket has an estimated value of around $500.00.
The Wilmington Sharks put in an array of items including a t-shirt, pennant, stickers, a car magnet, cup, and wristbands. Wilmington Fun has thrown in a couple of T-Shirts (Your Ticket to Fun) and a couple of koozies.
Next we have some great gift certificates and merchandise. There is a glass from The Sour Barn as well as a $10.00 gift certificate. What a great way to try them if you have not been already. They also have wine. Broomtail Craft Brewery has done the same and they are close to The Sour Barn. Remember to share and bring a friend. If you feel more like wine, then try Soif de Vin. There is a $10.00 certificate for there as well. Soif de Vin is new, so be sure to visit them, even if you do not win. There are some beautiful glasses in the basket from Session Beer Market as well. Today is a good day to visit them for $1.00 off growler fills.
One of the largest items in the basket is a full size dart board and t-shirt from Altantic Spas and Billiards. If you have not been in to check out their store, you really should. I was amazed at the amount of things in their store and it was not just hot tubs. Also, if you need a Wilmington Fun t-shirt, they have them in stock, just ask. The Zebra Shop, one of my absolute favorite places to get jewelry (full disclosure, this is my daughter’s business), currently it is only online, she is here in Wilmington though, she put a handcrafted bracelet in the basket. The next item I must admit, did not know what is was until I saw it. Hell’s Kitchen put not only a $25.00 gift card in the basket, but also a Hell’s Kitchen Freaker. Those are pretty cool.
A couple of my favorite places each put $40.00 gift cards in the basket, Seawitch Cafe and Tiki Bar and JohnnyLukes KitchenBar. They both have a lot of wonderful choices. My recommendations for Seawitch would be the Ahi Tuna Nachos and my recently discovered Strawberry Jalapeno wings. When you go to Johnny Lukes, oh, the Brie is my absolute favorite there. I would recommend the Dano flatbread and Jane’s Addiction. After you go to Seawitch, stop by with your empty popcorn can and bag to Tastebuds Popcorn in Carolina Beach and pick out some popcorn. They have so many wonderful flavors. If this will be your first time there, I bet it will not be your last.
We have much more merchandise in the basket as well. We have a hat from SeaSide Silk Screening. They are awesome to work with, thank you for putting up me with changing my mind so many times. Wilmington Granite for the t-shirts. Baker Roofing for the t-shirts, mugs and koozies and A&I Fire and Restoration for the cups, kooozies and office supplies.
I would like to thank all of the above sponsors again. And also a quick shout to Tavern Law for the pre-gaming event for us and to pick the winner of the basket. We look forward to seeing you all on June 7th at Tavern Law before the game.
Back to regular blogging tomorrow. Thank you for taking the time to read this one and please do consider trying any of the businesses above, if you have not done so already.
