Yesterday was so absolutely beautiful. I treated myself to the afternoon off. I went for a long walk on Carolina Beach and then stopped off at Gibby’s where I sat and talked to one of the very nice patrons there for quite a while. It was fun and very informative.
I am going to cheat a little bit today on the blog. I went out last Friday and had a terrific time both at lunch and in the evening, but with St. Patrick’s Day, I didn’t get to talk about it. So I am doing it now.
Friday started with lunch at Nikki’s Fresh Gourmet and Sushi downtown with a friend. We ordered three rolls to start with, since that was the special. We ordered Shrimp Tempura, Tuna and Salmon. They were all delicious, but not quite filling enough. So we ordered the Gyoza. For those of you who may not know what that is, Pan Fried Pork Dumpling. They were awesome. Would like to try their Shumai next time. That is one of my favorites. We had to indulge in one more thing before deciding we were finished. The spicy fried shrimp. I am sure it had another name, but unfortunately cannot recall at the moment. By the time we were finished, most of the restaurant was empty from the large lunch crowd.
Friday night I decided to meet some friends down at Carolina Beach. I met them at the Seawitch, where they were having margaritas. They looked so yummy and my unsweetened tea was good, but since it was early, I broke down and had one. They were finishing dinner as I arrived, so we sat for a bit and chatted before heading on to our next stop, Latella Gelato. It was a little chilly out, but got gelato anyway. They had the cutest mini cupcakes, but saw them after I ordered the gelato. Hopefully they will have some next time. Afterwards, we made a quick stop at Hurricane Alley and then off to the Silver Dollar for a little bit of karaoke before heading home, but not without having a little fun with the cut outs on the Boardwalk.
Wednesday is always a busy day. A few things to do tonight. Champagne toast reception for Janette K Hopper at Pinpoint Restaurant at 6. Wine 101 – South America at Island Beverage at 6, a wine tasting at Palate at 6, Trivia with two Blondes at Might as Well at 8 and a Paint and Sip at Waterline Brewery at 6.
Please be patient with me as I keep get all this information together for you on the drop down screens. I know that will be much easier. I am wanting to make sure everything is correct, so it takes time to confirm with all the material, but we are slowly getting there.
Not sure what my plan is for today, but I know it will be a FUN one. Hope you all have a fabulous day and be sure to have FUN!!!!
