Yesterday was a long day. We started at Wilmington Brewing Company. It was my first time there, so number 206. Unfortunately they only have beer there, so to make it official in the count, I asked for a couple samples of which I took a tiny sip from each. I tried The Strawberry Milkshake IPA first and then the Raspberry Saison. My friend had the Damn Good Brown Porter. We did not stay too long since they did not have wine, but while my friend enjoyed his beer, I looked around next door where they sell all the brewing supplies. I took a few pictures to give you an idea of the store. There was also an El Camino out in the parking lot with the logo painted on its side on hood. Made for nice pictures.
After visiting Wilmington Brewing Company, we headed north to Ogden Tap Room. We grabbed a bite to eat there. I was not very hungry, so we split a large meal. We started with the soup of the day. I believe she called it summer soup. It was still a hot soup, but it was made of all summer vegetables such as squash and zucchini with a tomato base. It was then on to the Middle Sound Turkey Sandwich. It had all sorts of good stuff on it. There was turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and the avocado and onion I had them put on the side for me. My friend not a big fan of either of them, but I wanted to try the sandwich as described. The sandwich also came with a potato salad and a pickle. We could have gotten fries, but I liked this option better. When we had finished with all that, my friend ordered another Harpoon, since the special was most draft beers $3.00 pint. We then finished up with a peanut butter layer cake. It was layers of brownie cake and sweet peanut butter filing, topped with peanut butter cups and chocolate frosting. It probably would have gone nicely with a glass of wine, but since I knew I was having wine at the next stop, I had iced tea. No picture there. You seen one iced tea you seen them all. LOL.
The last stop was at Broomtail Craft Brewery. They are normally not open on Tuesday, but they were shooting their commercial today and asked friends and patrons to stop by if they would like to participate. I took a couple of pictures of them making the commercial while I was there. We had gotten there a little early so we could enjoy a glass of wine and a beer before everyone got there. I normally get the pinot grigio, but tried a piesporter today. It was really good. I need to go back and find out exactly what brand it was. I could be switching for the summer. My friend ordered the Jus Sayin beer. We did not stay the entire time, since I will be going back to The Sour Barn tonight for the Charity t-shirt sale and bingo night. $5.00 from every shirt sold tonight will go to the Paws Place Dog Rescue.
Well that was it for yesterday. I am looking froward to The Sour Barn tonight. I hope you all can get there, help out a great cause and most of all, have FUN!!!!
