I know it is Sunday and I am just getting to Friday night, but some weekends are a little busier than others. This being one of them and I would hate to miss any of the great places that we have been going.
Number 213 is a good example. The Veranda Bar and Grill at Beau Rivage. When we arrived, we took a seat on the patio. After a bit, we decided that with the heat we would rather be indoors. When we sat down at our indoor table, our drinks that we had ordered outside, were at our new table. I had the strawberry lemonade drink special and my friends had the beer special. We were feeling pretty casual since we were on our way down to the beach, so I ordered the fish and chips Friday special and my friends both ordered burgers. The bacon and bleu was a nice looking burger, so I took a picture of that one. The other one was a regular cheeseburger and since I had that already this week, I skipped the picture. They both enjoyed their burgers though. The fish and chips were good. It looked like they made their own chips there. I was going to order dessert, but unfortunately they did not have desserts available. The views were very nice. I included a couple of pictures that I took from outside.
When we left, we headed down to The Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area. The Luxuriant Sedans were playing. I had never been to see them or had I been to The Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area before for music. It was a great venue. Easy parking, great seating (bring your chairs) and you could bring your own food and drink. They had hot dogs, beer, wine and alcohol available there. The views were amazing as the sun was setting on the river. A friend of mine took a couple of shots while we were there, so I am including them. We had a nice time. The concert was over around 8:30, so we thought we should make a quick stop on the way home.
We ended up stopping at Big Daddy’s. We were at the light deciding where to go, when we heard JV Flanagan from Big Daddy’s. We all like him, so we quickly turned into the parking lot and crossed the street to see him play. The blue drink below was the special of the day. I cannot remember what it was called, but it did have blue curacao in it. One of my other friends had the Bold Rock Blackberry Hard Cider that was on special. We hung out for a bit with our nightcap and the terrific music, then headed home for a busy upcoming rest of the weekend.
Do not forget that Monday evening we will be holding a Special Event at Board and Barrel in the new Hotel Ballast on the riverwalk. It is from 6:00pm -8:00pm. There will be free appetizers and music for those wearing there Wilmington Fun t-shirt or tank. If you do not have one, no worries, you can buy one at the door.
Today looks to be awesome, so get out and have some FUN!!!!
