Good Morning,

I want to start the morning with a quick shout out to wish my son Happy Birthday. Not sure if he is reading this, but just in case. Hope you have FUN tonight!!

Last Friday I made two stops in the afternoon. My first one was to The Sour Barn on Market Street toward the northern end. My original intent was to drop off shirts for their anniversary party this weekend. They have two sessions, one from 12:00pm until 5:00pm and also one from 6:00pm – 11:00pm. I know there are still general admission tickets available, but at this time I am not sure about the VIP tickets. The VIP tickets get you in an hour earlier, just a FYI. This is their Two Year Anniversary Party. They will have live music, a DJ, Local and Imported Craft Draft Beers, Games, Raffles, and Food Trucks at each session. There will be over twelve different Broomtail and several guest beers on tap as well as special bottle releases and sour beer rarities for VIP holders. Some of the participating breweries beside Broomtail include Wicked Weed, D9, Neuse River Brewing, Makai Brewing, Panacea Brewing, Revelry Brewing, Lagunitas Brewing, Gizmo Brew Works, Wrightsville Beach Brewery and possibly some others that I am not aware of at this time. It looks to be a fun afternoon or evening either way. I would purchase tickets in advance, just so you are not held up in line when you get there. You can buy them online or at their tasting room. Your ticket includes Admission, Sour Barn Commemorative Beer Glass, Swag bag of sour barn and vendor goodies and four beer tokens. There is a link to the event on our homepage. Just click on the picture to get more details. Tickets are $30.00. While I was there though, I did try a sampling of their new slushies. They had two kinds, one with beer and one with wine. Since we all know by now I do no drink beer, I tried that one first. If I did drink beer though, that would be something I would consider. It was a Black Currant Gose, for those of you who know your beers. The wine one was also very good. I took a quick picture for those not familiar with the adult slushy concept. LOL

I also made a stop at Skytown Beer and BBQ. I knew we were going to Fourth Friday later in the evening, but I was a bit hungry so I ordered one of their side dishes of Mac n Beer. It was a pretty good size for a side dish. It totally hit the spot. Also again knowing that we were going to Fourth Friday, I had an iced tea with it. They have so many good things on the menu I want to try. They make some of their beer in-house, for those that are interested. I would like to try out their lunch special menu one day. They have a grilled chicken sandwich with their Alabama white sauce on it. Sounds yummy. All their lunch specials are $9.99. Last time we were there we had cookies and tater tots. Next time I would like to try a real meal, like say their St. Louis Style Ribs Pork Ribs or even a burger. Depends on if I get there for lunch or dinner.

Well, that was Friday afternoon, tomorrow I will get to Friday night. As far as tonight, being a Tuesday, Buzz’s Roost is a great option with half price liquor. There is also music at the Seawitch starting at 7:00pm. Not sure what I will be doing yet, but it will definitely entail FUN!!! If you get down to the beach or do something else, just be sure to get out and have some FUN!!!!
