We left off with Wednesday late afternoon with my trip to Rebellion. After having lunch with my daughter, I met up with a friend of mine downtown and we went to the new restaurant, Rum Cow. Rum Cow is number 247 on the way to bar 300. We went in just as it was opening, this gave me a good opportunity to take lots of pictures. They made this great little area in the front by the window that I could not help but take pictures of it. I looks so FUN! We sat at the bar when we arrived and ordered our drinks. Being I was at Rum Cow, I had to try the Rum Cow drink. It was Zaya Rum, fresh local milk, demerara syrup, angostura bitters and black vanilla, topped with nutmeg. It was a different type of drink for me. I am still not sure what I thought of it, but I will definitely be back to try something else. My friend chose to get a Sweetwater 420 Storm. After we had gotten our drinks, we walked around and found our way outside to their little courtyard. We stayed out there to finish our drinks, which unfortunately made me forget to look at the menu. Not sure what I will try when go back.
When we finished at Rum Cow we were trying to find someplace else that was open that would be new to me. It is getting harder and harder downtown to find places. I think the only places left are ones that open a little later, or are tucked away. We came across Mon Ame on Second Street. It is a quaint little wine bar that also sells chocolates. After trying a couple of the wines, I decided on a Malbec to go with our Bourbon Chocolates. My friend went with the Cabernet. That would make this number 248. We went to the back of the shop where they had some extra seating to enjoy the wine and chocolate. Everyone was sitting in the front, so it was quiet back where we were.
We made one last stop before going home on Wednesday, we had a nightcap at Mad Katz and checked out some of the karaoke singers, after playing a game of pool. That was the end of our evening.
With today being Sunday, there is plenty of early entertainment. Jared Michael Cline is playing at Hops Supply from 11:00am until 3:00pm. Dos Eddies is playing at Gibby’s Dock and Dine from 1:00pm until 5:00pm. Seawitch, Anne Bonny’s and Bill’s front Porch also have early music. Check the website for further information. There is a pop-up market at The Sour Barn from 3:00pm until 7:00pm. Later in the afternoon there is music at Goat and Compass from 4:00pm – 7:00pm and at Bluewater Grill from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. I personally am thinking about going to the Mac and Cheese Cook-off at Broomtail Craft Brewer at 6:00pm.
Well, that is it for me for today. I hope everything enjoys their Sunday. Remember, it does not matter what you do, just get out there and have some FUN!!!!
