What a day yesterday. Not sure about anyone else, but I got caught in three downpours yesterday. Seemed like every time I got out of the car and had a distance to cover or something to get out of the car, boom, it would rain in sheets. Needless to say, I spent most of the day soaking wet. I made the most of it though.
The first time I got soaked was going to Cody’s North. We had a t-shirt event there. No sooner did I open the back of the car to get out the shirts and a little table out, it was pouring. I was wet from head to toe. I brought everything in and set up. Other Wilmington Fun members were right behind me. Of course, then it stopped raining. LOL. There was a very nice group of people there that were doing a Golden Tee Tournament and some others for a dart tournament. I had a chance to walk around and meet most of the people. I gave out a lot of koozies and made some new friends. We stayed for about three hours. We also enjoyed some of the food Cody’s North provided for the tournament people. There was a really great queso dip there. Not sure where that came from, but boy was it good. I was hoping to take more pictures of us selling shirts and talking to people, but with the weather being so wet, we opted out. I was able though to get a few shots of the inside of Cody’s North and some of the food we had to eat. I must say that if I wanted to play darts, pool, video golf or even just hang out for an afternoon, I would go to this place. They are so friendly and everyone was just so nice. Oh, and by the way, just as we were packing the car to leave, you guessed it, it poured again.
After the event, I went home to change, since I was still wet. Plus I was not planning on going out until later, so I could watch a little bit of the masters. I headed downtown to go to Palate. They are considered a bottle shop and reserve. They do have quite a bit of seating, and last night they needed it. If you have not been before, they are located in the Brooklyn Arts District. I went to see a band new to me, called Burnin’ Bridges. They were excellent. They were originally scheduled to play outside, but with the weather being as it was, they played inside. While I was there, I met some awesome new people and one of the band members. I had a great time and I look forward to getting together with them again. I did do a live feed on Facebook of the band last night. Feel free to check it out. I also had to take a picture of the fire pit on the deck, it was beautiful out there.
Well that was it for yesterday. I am planning to go to Oceanic for a bit this afternoon to hear Dos Eddies. They play from 12:00pm – 4:00pm. I am hoping to get there on the earlier side to see if they have a lunch or brunch for Sunday. Looks much better out today.
It is shaping up to be a beautiful day, so be sure to get out and have some FUN!!!!
