Look at that beautiful sunshine. It is going to be a great day.
I must say yesterday was quite pleasant too. I started with a trip to Soif de Vin. They are opening their doors for the first time tomorrow. They are located in Monkey Junction in the Lowes Plaza, right near Cape Fear Seafood. You can click on the link above to check out their website and get directions. I took a few pictures of the inside for everyone to get a sneak peek. The shop is amazing and my pictures are not as nice as the place itself. You can buy wine by the glass and by the bottle there. They will also have some craft beers on hand. I cannot wait to stop in when they open. Do not forget to tell them Wilmington Fun sent you.
After the visit to Soif de Vin, I was off to the downtown area. I really wanted to see the Juried Spring Art Show & Sale at the Hannah Block USO Building. I had heard many wonderful things about the art there and wanted to see for myself. I was not disappointed. There were so many beautiful works of art. It was fantastic to see so many different medias of art. I took a few pictures to share. If there is something you like, it is free to attend. You can always see if it is still available. I will be covering some art openings and other events as time allows. I love exposing everything that Wilmington and the surrounding area have to offer. When I had finished walking around, I was able to speak to a couple of the hosts of the event. The ladies explained something I need to share with you all. There is something going on tomorrow night called a FINE ART DRAWING!!!!! The tickets are 1 for $10 or 3 for $20. This is a great idea. What happens is for every ticket sold, that amount of money goes into a voucher. Example: If they collect $1,000 form ticket sales, the winner will receive a $1,000 voucher to spend on any art in the show. It can be used for one or more pieces. You can even use it towards one that is more than the voucher (you do need to pay the difference). This is an awesome way to support the local arts. Drawing tomorrow is between 5:00 and 7:00pm. I am looking forward to working more with the local artists in the future.
I had a great time last night too. Made three unscheduled stops and have lots to talk about there too. I think I will leave that for tomorrow. I will just be behind for a day or two in the future. Do not worry if anything really cool is coming up. I will let you know at the bottom of the blog. We do not want anyone to miss out on any of the fun.
That is all for now. Looking forward to Yoshi Sushi tonight and whatever else the night brings.
Do not forget to enjoy the sunshine and most of all have FUN!!!!
